The Story

Our 2017 began with my son, Kalel, being accepted into the Louth Early Intervention Disability Services.  After the initial heartbreak at having my fears confirmed, (my son had a disability that would affect every day of his life), I very quickly decided to look for the positives in the situation.  I believe I can use my experiences as my family embark on this journey of discovery and learning, to help other people who will have to deal with disabilities or living with anything considered outside of the "norm" in their own lives.

I also want to show that life has to go on, that disabilities affect the entire family and beyond, and that every person in my son's life will have to play the part of a superhero when helping him to deal with all of the issues and obstacles that he comes up against.

We all are Superheroes when we deal with anything outside of the "human normality" because it requires superhuman strength to have victory over each obstacle.  And YOU have it, or else you wouldn't be here now dealing with it!  In fact even when dealing with "normal" life we are Superheroes going above and beyond what we feel we can be to be better for other people in our lives!  All of us.....we are all Superheroes!

Today as I begin this blog, we don't actually know what it is that we are dealing with.  I want to share this journey though, as an encouragement and as a source of information, but also as a kind of therapy for me I guess, so that I have a platform on which to offload how I'm feeling and what we, as a family, are experiencing whenever I think that I need to.

It is also important to show that having faith in God will get us through everything that comes against us in life.  We may be Superheroes, but He is Supernatural!
