RTE's "Autism and Me"

On March 13th, RTE aired a fantastic program that really gave an insight into the lives of a handful of children and young adults in Ireland who are living with autism every day.

I really recommend that every single person who comes across this watches it! Even if you think that your life will never be affected by autism, I think we all need an understanding of what it is and how it affects individuals so that we can treat all of those who are autistic with the understanding and the dignity that they deserve.

We make assumptions about people who have disabilities. WE - meaning me too! Hearing directly from these brave youngsters has shattered many of those assumptions for me. They have given me an insight into my own little superhero's world.

Make sure you have the tissues close to hand though.
